A short walk for them to the local commuter train station for a ride across the Delaware becomes an epic journey of heartbreaking intensity and unbelievable adventure. Now they hold the faith of worlds in their hands. The girl's hidden names and authority gradually emerge as their ambition to understand truth and wisdom heats up and the mysterious markings found on the stone begin to glow. 

     Addison and Eva  have been set in motion by this active force. They witness the abduction and murder of the stranger and experience terror narrowly escaping his killers. Several weeks later demons visit new horror on their families. The girl's parents are tortured and killed. Their house is burned to the ground. After dodging capture a second time the girls go hiding in a wooded park and fall asleep. Homeless and in shock their new world is dark and lonely.

     In a dream that night a hand is offered each of them by a very old man and they walk through the darkness to sit near a warm comforting fire.  He tells them a story is unfolding around them in the dark beyond the firelight and the piece of stone is a sacred trust given him by his grandfather.  He said he had carried it through ages and worlds long past from a far off country to them. 

     The old man cried when he told them how grateful he was to be allowed to help them fulfill the final ceremony that would raise up the fire shine and bring them home.  The time of the ceremony was very near, he said, and they had to prepare themselves to die as he had.

     Now the girls awake alone in the wooded park as morning begins to break and the dream is just a memory.  Where did this stone artifact come from?  Who was the old man in a dream they both shared and what did he mean they would die as he had?  Scared, hungry and confused the girls find a strange excitement and energy surrounding this terrible new dawn. They are drawn across the event horizon of destiny into an ageless vision quest to confront their deaths. Entangled with unseen power they return to choices of theirs and others in a struggle to understand what is happening and complete the ceremony before it is too late.
